Face to Face counselling is a popular option. Experience your session in a safe and private space located in Great Torrington, North Devon. Some people prefer the contact with their therapist and are more able to relax in a different environment specially formulated to assist the therapeutic process
Another option is online counselling. This was made a recognised and fully endorsed source of counselling during the Covid Pandemic. Many people realised that the convenience and ease of receiving counselling in your own home or safe space was as beneficial as face to face. For those who have limited time or even just feel more safe in their chosen space, this may be the option for you.
Telephone counselling offers that level of anonymity that some people need to be able to disclose to their counsellor. Whilst this is not a fit for everyone it can allow people to start to develop that trusting bond with their chosen counsellor and may eventually lead on to other forms. It can be a great gentle introduction to counselling. It may also be that you are time sensitive with a busy lifestyle or you do not have computer/car access to be able to engage in other forms of counselling.
I wanted to introduce you to a service that I offer called Single Session Therapy. Not many people know about this type of therapy and assume that counselling involves many visits over weeks or months. In certain circumstances one session is all that is needed with no obligation to have any further. The intention is to ideally help you in literally one session. Having said this, there is opportunity to have more sessions if you feel you need them outside of this meeting. Who would this benefit? You may feel that you don’t ‘need’ counselling but something doesn’t feel right or it can be useful if you have an important decision to make, wanting to talk it through with someone impartial and non-judgemental. It can also be a gentle introduction to counselling if you are unsure or want to try. This brief session therapy works if you have an issue which could benefit focusing on a solution rather than the problem. It is a great tool to help those who suffer with anxiety, depression and could benefit from building on strengths rather than focusing on limitations.
Psychotherapist
I am passionate about helping those who have suffered trauma and struggling with PTSD. Having volunteered with a front line service for a year and a half, I quickly realised that there is a shortage of resources for those who work in a role, where they see and deal with situations that leave a mark .
If you are unable to get through on the telephone, please leave a voicemail message and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively, email me and I will respond as soon as possible.
